Convention to "Blaze New Trails"

The League’s 78th Annual Convention is set for April 17 to 19, 2008 at the Hilton Chicago and Towers. The country western-style theme is “Blazing New Trails.”
Registration materials were sent to credit unions during January and are available online. Go to www.iculeague.coop and click on the convention logo to access the materials. The convention will begin with the Delegates’ Meeting, which will be held on Thursday, April 17 from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Exhibit Hall Grand Opening will follow at 4:00 p.m. On Thursday evening, the Credit Union Political Action Council (CUPAC) will hold its annual mixer where you kick up your heels with fellow attendees.
On Friday morning during the Keynote and Awards Ceremony, watch your peers win accolades for their accomplishments for the past year and get the first look at our new state-wide image awareness and membership growth campaign, "iBelong." Then listen to motivational speaker, Randy Morgan as he presents "Aligning Passion with Purpose," where he reminds people to be more inspired by possibilities. American Share Insurance (ASI)/ Extra Share Insurance sponsors this exciting event.
The first set of education sessions will be held on Friday morning, and the second set of sessions will be held on Friday afternoon. A final set of education sessions is scheduled for Saturday morning. The CUES luncheon will feature former television anchor and author, Charlie Adams, who will share some common denominators of successful newsworthy people and leave you reinvigorated to reach the goals ahead. Don't fiddle around and miss the final round up, also known as the closing session, where Christine Corelli will present "Blazing the Trail for Success." Her grand finale will even include some fiddlin' of her own.
Members United Corporate FCU is again joining with the League to present the popular Chairman’s Reception on Friday evening. This is your chance to mosey into the Grand Ballroom Saloon to see how the West was really won - with fine food and foot stompin' music. Enjoy a bonanza of hors d'oeuvres and refreshing drinks, and take a spin on the dance floor to the sound of a 19-piece wild, wild west orchestra.
A list of registered vendors are also listed on the League’s Web site. Be sure to check the website before coming to Convention so you are able to see all the vendors on your list. The Exhibit Hall will be open on late Thursday afternoon and during the day on Friday.
“We look forward to extending a warm welcome and inspiring you to 'Blaze New Trails' at your credit union” said Janet Francoeur, Annual Convention Committee Chair.
