Mexican delegation/WOCCU visit ICUL

A delegation of more than 20 credit union executives from Mexico recently braved the Chicago winter to visit ICUL. As part of their trip, the group also toured and met with staff from three area credit unions. The group took the opportunity for a photo with ICUL President/Chief Executive Officer Dan Plauda after touring the ICUL offices.

Ladies Golf Outing raises record funds for CUPAC

Golfers at this year's Illinois Ladies' Credit Union Open had much more to celebrate than just the 20th anniversary of this classic event. The fundraising event raised a record $20,750 for CUPAC, the largest donation in its 31-year history. This annual ladies-only event was held at Salt Creek Golf Course in Wood Dale with more than 100 golfers attending. Geri Burek (right), CEO of South Division CU, who organized the event 20 years ago, presented the funds to Carl Sorgatz, ICUL Chairman at a recent Board of Directors meeting.

"To see this event grow to this level has been a great jtribute to what women can do when they set their minds to it. Over its 20-year history, this event has raised more than $100,000 for CUPAC," said Burek.

In accepting the donation, Sorgatz said: “It’s always a battle to compete with the banks on the legislative front. It’s CUPAC that fights for us – with the support of people like Geri and the many women who helped raise these funds over the last 20 years.”
