CU Match Up finds new home
The CU Match Up membership program, previously found at www.joinacu.org, has been replaced by an all-new website: www.findacreditunion.com.
As a user-friendly, web-based service, the goal of CU Match Up is to link potential members with credit unions they may be eligible to join. Several years ago, ICUL partnered with the California Credit Union League to provide a nationwide credit union referral program to affiliated Illinois credit unions. This program allows your credit union to enter its field of membership information into a nationwide database to be used by individuals seeking credit union membership. Currently, more than nearly 30 leagues including Illinois and their member credit unions have signed on to the program.
In response to feedback from credit union administrators, the dynamic new site has been significantly upgraded to provide a better search for users and greater results for your credit union. New features include:
- A fresh, engaging look with Flash animation (a non-Flash site is also available);
- A user-friendly format that's easy to navigate;
- Search results that can be displayed by search type, alphabetically, or random;
- A "Search Radius" feature allowing users to narrow search results to within 10, 25, 50, or 100 miles of their zip code; and
- Detailed maps and directions from MapQuest
Like the current site, the new site continues to offer a Spanish-language search option, information touting the benefits of credit unions, and a log-in site for credit union administrators.
Access to the CU Match Up Program is free and is provided as part of your dues. Each credit union can enter and update its information as needed. Since this program is administered separately by an outside organization, your credit union must handle the updates separately. Keeping your credit union's records up-to-date and accurate increases the ability for potential members to find you. Your participation in CU Match Up is voluntary.Visitors to the League's website can find the CU Match Up link in the "Consumer Info" area. If your credit union is interested in being part of this service, or if you have any questions, including obtaining a user ID and password, please contact Vicki Ponzo, ICUL SVP, Member Services and CU Match Up administrator, at 630-983-3413 or.
