Final Grant Deadline. The last review for 2007 grants (Community Service, Small Credit Union Development, Marketing and Business Development, and Financial Independence & Revitalization Effort "FIRE") will take place following the October 31 application deadline. Printable application forms are available on the ICUL Web site.

Grant application review deadlines are March 31, July 31, and October 31. Grant seekers are encouraged to complete and return the application form to the Foundation as early in the year as possible since grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications will be reviewed as long as grant funds are available.

New CEOs. Welcome to the following new CEOs of Illinois credit unions: Blaw Knox ECU – Debbie Behl; First Financial CU – Patrick Basler; Peoria Hiway CU – Christina Grafelman; and United Methodist Ministries – Susan Phelps.

Grand Openings. The following credit unions opened new facilities recently: Aldersgate FCU – Danville; Alliance Financial CU – River Forest; CBI FCU – Plainfield; Community FCU – Chicago; and Swedish American FCU – Rockford.

Chapter Leaders Date Change.  Chapter Leaders — please note that next year’s Chapter Leaders Conference will be held later in the year than the usual May timeframe. The 2008 conference will be held August 21 – 22, hosted by the Tri-County Chapter at Starved Rock in Ottawa. Please make a note of the date now. More information will be forthcoming.
