Legislative Day

This year's Legislative Day event was highlighted by a keynote address by Illinois State Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias, who discussed the role of credit unions in the financial marketplace.  ICUL has been working with Giannoulias since his election last fall and is encouraging credit unions to avail themselves of the extensive series of free training and educational sessions available through the Treasurer’s office.

Illinois State Representatives Joe Lyons (D-Chicago) and Lisa Dugan (D-Kankakee) discussed their experiences as credit union board members and members of the Illinois General Assembly during ICUL’s 2007 Legislative Day event.  After the speakers and visits to the State Capitol, the event concluded with a reception at the President Abraham Lincoln Hotel. More than 110 credit union officials from throughout Illinois attended.

Scott Credit Union Mobile ATM

Scott Credit Union recently unveiled a new custom-built Hummer ATM trailer that will offer surcharge-free ATM usage at community events throughout the area.  The Money Zone ATM trailer has a vending door that opens to give those who need cash access to the ATM. The idea for the mobile ATM was conceived by former Scott Credit Union President Jim Bright, who died unexpectedly in 2005.
