First Quarter 2006

Electronic Indepth part of online communications picture

Welcome to the new electronic version of the League’s quarterly publication, Indepth! As you may already know, your credit union has received multiple copies of each issue of Indepth via U.S. Mail in the past as a benefit of ICUL membership. Beginning with this issue, Indepth is now available only electronically.

As a reader of Indepth, you are probably already aware this publication is designed to communicate information and updates on important issues and trends affecting Illinois credit unions, as well as ICUL's initiatives and activities, including legislative, regulatory, legal, and lending issues, products/services, and educational opportunities. We need e-mail addresses of those staff members and board members of your credit union who will benefit from reading Indepth, so please keep these editorial topics in mind when providing names of who should receive this publication.

Publishing Indepth electronically is part of a concerted effort the League is undertaking to collect e-mail addresses from affiliated credit unions on a large scale to increase communication of news, time-sensitive alerts and other important information across all of its functional areas. There are also several other electronic communications options that are available to League members. These include e-mail newsletters: the League E-News Direct and the Weekly Government News; listservs for small credit unions (under $20 million) and Chapter Leaders; and distribution of Educational materials. Please consult the League’s Web site for details on each option and feel free to sign up for as many as you like that apply to your operation.

Please note that all e-mail addresses collected by the League will be available to a limited number of League staff. In addition, e-mails are personalized, do not contain e-mail addresses of other recipients, and will be used only for the purpose for which they were collected.

We hope you will find the electronic version of Indepth beneficial.  For comments or questions, please contact Editor William Wille at (800) 942-7124, ext. 3216.
