Time to “Get Wild” at Convention Safari

The League’s Annual Convention is set for April 20 to 22, 2006 at the Hilton Chicago and Towers. The theme is “Credit Union Safari...It’s Wild!”

Registration materials were sent to credit unions during January and are also available online. Go to www.iculeague.org and click on the Convention logo to access the materials. One important schedule change to note is the date and time change of the Delegates’ Meeting, which will be held on Thursday, April 20 from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Exhibit Hall Grand Opening will follow at 4:00 p.m. On Thursday evening, CUPAC will hold its annual mixer.

On Friday morning during the Keynote and Awards Ceremony, current League Chairman of the board, Jack Teausant, will turn over the gavel to the incoming chairman. Motivational speaker, Walter Bonds, will present the Keynote Address, which is sponsored by American Share Insurance (ASI). Bonds, a former NBA star, will address “Winners, Losers and Champions-There is a Difference.”

The first set of education sessions will be held on Friday morning, and the second set of sessions will be held on Friday afternoon. Jeff Tobe, CSP, will be the speaker at the CUES Luncheon on Friday “Coloring Outside the Lines: Innovation and Creative Problem Solving.” A final set of education sessions is scheduled for Saturday morning.

Mid-States Corporate FCU is joining with the League to host the popular Chairman’s Reception on Friday evening. Mid-States is our Platinum Sponsor for the 2006 Convention. Stop by to congratulate the new League Chairman and to mingle with your credit union peers.

Registered vendors will be listed on the League's Web site. Be sure to check the Web site before coming to Convention so you are able to see all the vendors on your list. The Exhibit Hall will be open on late Thursday afternoon and during the day on Friday.
