*Kankakee Chapter holds Shred Day*

			The Kankakee Valley Chapter was one of many chapters and credit unions that held "Shred Day" events in PR support of the iBelong Campaign during the month of October 2009. At left, representatives from the chapter braved a cold October Saturday during International Credit Union Week to hold the shredding event in conjunction with the downtown Kankakee Farmers Market. Shred Month activities were held during June and October for the second year in a row to help credit union members and consumers to safely destroy their no longer needed financial documents.

ICUL hosts Bank on Aurora

ICUL recently hosted credit unions that serve the Aurora area to learn more about Bank on Illinois. Offered via the Illinois State Treasurer's Office, "Bank on Aurora" is a program that offers unbanked residents from underserved and minority communities free and/or low-cost accounts with mainstream financial institutions. REAL Solutions credit unions discuss innovations

The latest meeting of Illinois REAL Solutions partner credit unions centered around the latest innovations and initiatives of the Filene Institute’s i3 group. At left, Jean Theis, vice president of operations for Motorola ECU presented on the Debt in Focus web interface. In addition, Frank Weidner, senior vice president of member services from Alliant CU, (below at left) provided an update on several of the latest projects of the i3 group.
