Chapter Leaders: Mark your calendar for the annual Chapter Leaders Conference, which will be held August 20 & 21. This year’s conference is being hosted by the Illinois Quad Cities Chapter. Watch your mail soon for all the details or click here for initial details.
Golf outing season is upon us. The CUPAC outing will be held on June 22 at Orchard Valley GC in Aurora and the ICU Foundation outing will be held on Wednesday July 29 at Fox Run GC in Elk Grove. For a full list of all of the golf outings, please see the League’s Web site.
CUPAC’s Major League Baseball fundraising event will be held within the friendly confines of Wrigley Field in the “Batter’s Eye” suite on September 2 (1:20 pm game time) when the Chicago Cubs play the Houston Astros. The “Batter’s Eye” suite is in center field, below Wrigley’s historic scoreboard. Guests have access to a climate-controlled suite area (with plasma televisions, private restrooms) as well as seats in the bleacher area. Registration information will be mailed this summer.
The official call for entries for the annual Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Award, Louise Herring Award for Philosophy in Action and Desjardins Youth Financial award competitions will be mailed to all credit unions this month. The deadline for all competitions is by 4:30 p.m. on August 3. Entry forms and other information are available via the League’s Web site. Illinois credit unions are invited to join others across the country on a year-long celebration in honor of their 100th Anniversary and innumerable contributions to consumer finance in our nation. The anniversary is not pegged to a single date but encompasses a rolling series of events. An array of materials, including press releases, sample proclamations, celebration ideas, letters to the editor, and newsletter articles are available to help promote this special celebration via CUNA's Web site.
