Children's Miracle Network Resource Area

The Illinois Credit Union (ICU) Foundation is proud to sponsor the Credit Unions for Kids Campaign in Illinois which benefits the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN). We have joined forces with hundreds of credit unions from throughout the United States who take part in this worthwhile project and who raise millions of dollars annually to help the CMN affiliated hospitals in their respective areas.

Since CUs for Kids became an official CMN sponsor in the mid-1990s, we have quickly risen to become on of the top national sponsors. In fact, we rank as the second largest national sponsor. Only Wal-Mart raised more money than CUs for Kids. Credit unions in Illinois raised more than $475,000 for CMN through the CUs for Kids program since 1996.

The ICU Foundation is asking your credit union to take an active role in helping to raise funds for the CUs for Kids campaign. We ask you to reach out to your members for gifts to this campaign. The dollars you raise in your area will directly benefit the hospital that serves the children who live in your community.

Every penny of the funds raised by the credit unions of Illinois will be disbursed by the ICU Foundation to the hospitals which serve the children in our state. The gifts will be distributed to the hospitals based on where they originate. For example, a gift from a credit union in Moline will be given to the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital, while a gift from a credit union in Chicago will be given to Children’s Memorial Medical Center.

All the gifts will be channeled through the ICU Foundation so we can keep track of the fundraising being conducted by the credit unions of Illinois. As sponsor of the project, the ICU Foundation will cover the costs related to promoting the CUs for Kids campaign, but will not receive income from the project. Again, the gifts will be disbursed to the hospitals in full.

Your credit union can run the campaign independently or you can collaborate with the other credit unions in your area and promote it as a chapter community involvement project. Either way, CUs for Kids is a fantastic project that will benefit your community.
