Pete Paulson, CEO, Corporate America Family Credit Union, was sworn in as ICUL's 40th Chairman during Convention.  Paulson, from the Fox Valley Chapter of Credit Unions, serves as the Class D At Large Director for District 3 and has been on the League board since 2003.  Full story.

 Plauda honored with  several tributes.   It might
 not be easy to sum up 37 years
 of service, including 30 as CEO,
 but the League and Illinois credit unions have been working very hard to provide Dan Plauda with much deserved recognition for his many years of service and dedication.  The League's recent Annual Convention provided the means for the board of directors, credit unions, and League staff to show very meaningful gratitude to Dan.

Social media vital to CU advocacy.
If you are a social media user, the League wants you to be part of the online conversation!  As you may already know, CUNA, leagues, credit unions, and their members have been significantly engaged in defending the movement's tax exempt status and social media has been a critical piece to our success.  To that end, the Illinois League has been very active in building its social media audience as well, specifically via Twitter, to engage lawmakers and others in learning about the credit union difference.  Full story.


 
 
Legislative Day event rapidly approaching!
More than 125 political activists are scheduled top descend on Springfield for ICUL's annual Legislative Day and Reception: "Credit Union Advocacy in the Political Arena."  This critical event will be held April 29 at a new location, the Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield.
