82nd Annual Convention

2012 Legislative Day and Reception

 

New ICUL board seated; Geri Burek elected Chairman

 

 

 

 

Activities at ICUL's 82nd Annual Convention included the seating of its new 12 member board and election of oficers.  Geri Burek, CEO of South Division Credit Union was elected Chairman and took her oath of office, given by outgoing Chairman Dennis Hall, CEO, I.H. Mississippi Valley CU, during the Keynote & Awards Ceremony.  Geri will serve as the Class B Director for District 2 and hails from the Chicago Metro Chapter.  For more  recaps, please see "Important News" and "Events" in this issue.

 

CU Champions in Illinois General Assembly honored

  

 

 

       

 

During its annual Legislative Day and Reception event on May 9 in Springfield, ICUL took time to honor two out-going members of the Illinois General Assembly, who have also served as champions for Illinois credit unions and on their respective credit union boards of directors.  At top left with Rep. Joe Lyons (D-19, Chicago, and assistant majority leader) is (from left): Maggie Westlove, SVP, Business Dev., Credit Union 1; Joe's wife, Karen; Paul Simons, CEO, Credit Union 1; and Brenda Crane, SVP/ COO, Credit Union 1.  In addition, Lisa Dugan (D-79, Kankakee) was also honored.  At below left, Lisa is with a number of Kankakee area credit union officials, including Janet Francoeur, Class A ICUL Director, District 2, and CEO, Riverside Community Credit Union (front left).

Pontiac Dwight Prison ECU recently celebrated 50 years of service.  From left are Lynda Johnson, Loan Processor, and Mae Powley, CEO, who has served in that capacity for the past 38 years. 

 

NASCUS holds Board College in Springfield

  

 

 

 

 

 

As part of the activities that took place in Springfield around the time of ICUL's Legislative Day event, the National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors (NASCUS) held a Board College.  The program included (at top left) Brad Losch, Division of Financial Institutions (DFI) Acting Assistant Supervisor, (as introduced by Jenny Champagne, NASCUS VP, Regulatory Dev. and Gov. Rel.); and David Anderson, DFI Acting Problem Case Officer.  The meeting was held at the Springfield office of Credit Union 1.
