CUs exhibit philosophy in Harrisburg

An EF-4 tornado that ripped through the small, far southern Illinois community of Harrisburg overnight on February 28 spared the Illinois credit union movement.  Two of the credit unions in that area, SIU Credit Union and River to River Credit Union (located just south of Harrisburg in Vienna), have offered assistance to their fellow counterparts in the region in any way they can.  SIU CU also has three staff (top left) participating as members of a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) as part of a mutual agreement with the Elverado Fire Department.  At bottom is  Southeastern Electric CU, located in Harrisburg, which was closed the day after the tornado as it is located in a community center, which served as a staging area for relief efforts.  See Important News for the full story.

ICUL Director presents art print as appreciation

At left, Tom DeWitt, ICUL Director for the Bloomington Chapter, and CEO, State Farm FCU, presented Don Edwards, ICUL SVP, Fed. Gov. Affairs, with a framed print of the state flower last month. Tom said it was an identical print to one displayed at Credit Union House in Washington, D.C. and was in recognition of Don's legislative efforts over the years, and in particular, coordination of a one-day board education event for State Farm FCU at CU House last fall.
