Consumers Cooperative CU to host home buying seminar. Consumers Cooperative Credit Union will continue its Spring 2012 educational seminar series on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 with "Home Buying Made Easy." The no-cost workshop is open to the public. The credit union will have good news to share with consumers who are in the market to purchase their very own home, but yet may be feeling a bit discouraged by all the challenging economic news. The workshop will include easy-to-understand answers to questions about financing options, purchasing options and more. Presenters will include experts on how to find the right home, how to finance and more. Gil Chavez and Lucas Frantz from the credit union's Mortgage Department will explain the pros and cons of the many financing options available. A local realtor group will also provide suggestions for determining the value of their prospective new home, tips for handling paperwork and other useful information to help make home buying the joyous experience it should be.
CUNA Brokerage Services honors two from Illinois as 2012 Women of Distinction. Jane Brockway, CRP, University of Illinois Credit Union and Judy Ebert, Deere ECU, were recently among 24 financial advisors honored by CUNA Brokerage Services, Inc. as Women of Distinction. This award is in recognition of superior performance, value to investment and insurance programs, exceptional client service and overall contribution to the financial services industry as well as CUNA Brokerage Services, Inc. A program created by women, for women, Women of Distinction is an award recognizing the top performing female financial advisors within CUNA Brokerage Services’ broker/dealer operation nationally. Candidates are nominated by industry peers. Then, selections are based on the nominee’s annual performance and outlined contribution to their clientele, the credit unions they service, as well as the financial services industry as a whole. Award recipients participate in a national mentoring program to work with other female advisors who are new to the industry as well as those who wish to grow in their profession.
GCS FCU donates to CASA. The employees of GCS Federal Credit Union recently presented Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Southwestern Illinois with a donation check for $1,100. Throughout the year, employees of GCS are given the opportunity to wear jeans on Fridays and Saturdays for $20. The funds collected go to a specified charity. The mission of CASA of Southwestern Illinois is to support abused and neglected children by recruiting and training volunteers to function as a voice in juvenile court systems in St. Clair, Monroe and Madison Counties. GCS supports numerous charitable organizations each year.

NuMark CU awards President Club Winners. Four employees from NuMark Credit Union were recently selected to join its prestigious President’s Club for outstanding service to their members. These top performers exceeded their goals in the areas of sales, service and training. The Presidents Club members received an award and a special gift from the President and CEO as well as a dinner with the management team and the board of directors. Winners Andrea Bales, Pat House, Crystal Delre and Yvonne Lawler were nominated by managers and selected by the management team. Each new member of the President’s Club supports a different facet of the credit union, but they have all offered exceptional service. "Great people make great businesses," said Ann Dubie, President and CEO. "It is my pleasure to acknowledge our top performers who go above and beyond to serve our members. Their pride, determination and dedication are the key to our success."
