ICUF annual golf outing - Elk Grove
July 25, 2012
Reserve Wednesday, July 25 and plan to attend the Illinois Credit Union Foundation’s golf outing. This annual fundraiser offers the opportunity to play in a scramble or individual play format. Participants are guaranteed a day of fun on the links while raising money for the Foundation. Everyone who wants to golf at the outing as well as credit unions and vendors who would like to be an event sponsor should contact Melanie Murphy at 800-942-7124. Chapter Leaders Conference - Tinley Park
August 22-23, 2012
Calling all chapters! In case you have not already heard, the 2012 conference has been set for August 22 - 23 and will be held at the Tinley Park Convention Center. This year's theme is: "The Oscars: Celebrating Award Winning Performances." The Chicago Metro Chapter will be the host chapter. For more details, click here for the conference brochure.
CUPAC Wrigley Field event fundraiser

The Wrigley Field Chicago Cubs CUPAC fundraiser has been scheduled. The event will be Thursday, August 30 (1:20 pm game time) against the Milwaukee Brewers. It will once again be in the suite below the historic scoreboard. The name has changed to the "Budweiser Bleacher Suite" (formerly known as the Batter's Eye). Check out the details here.
Hike the Hill – Washington, D.C.
October 3 – 4, 2012
Be sure to make your calendar to join the Illinois delegation in the nation’s capitol October 3 - 4 for the League’s annual Hike the Hill event. At the 2011 event, a delegation of 13 credit union officials from nine credit unions, as well as key League staff met with their Congressmen to discuss vital issues of concern. The meetings were very positive and interaction will continue with these legislators via candidate interviews and chapter legislative nights in their respective districts prior to the November 2012 election.

The Illinois Department on Aging, in cooperation with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation and the Illinois Credit Union League, invites financial institution staff at all levels to participate in an informational seminar addressing:
The Prevention of Elder Financial Fraud and Abuse: How Financial Institutions and State and Federal Agencies Can Work Together to Protect Consumers. This FREE session will take place Friday, July 13, 2012 from 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the Chicago Marriott Schaumburg (50 Martingale Road, Schaumburg, Illinois). The official call for entries for the annual Dora Maxwell, Louise Herring and Desjardins award competitions has been mailed to all credit unions. The deadline for all competitions is by 4:30 p.m. on August 3. Entry forms and other information are available via the League’s Web site. ICUF scholarship and grant deadlines
The next reviews for 2012 scholarships and grants (Community Service, Small Credit Union Development, Marketing and Business Development, and Financial Independence & Revitalization Effort (FIRE)) will take place July 31, and October 31. Grant seekers are encouraged to complete and return the application form to the Foundation as early in the year as possible since grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications will be reviewed as long as grant funds are available. Printable application forms are available on the ICUL Web site. March 31 was the main scholarship application deadline. Scholarship seekers are encouraged to complete and return the application form to the Foundation as early in the year as possible since most scholarships are awarded following the March 31 deadline. During the remainder of the year, scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first served basis as long as funds are available.
