Quinn receives standing O for signing CU Bill
Illinois Governor Pat Quinn on July 27 signed S.B. 3217, the League's legislative initiative to amend the Illinois Credit Union Act. On hand for the signing with the Governor (at center) were Dan Plauda, ICUL President/ Chief Executive Officer (at right) and Keith Sias, ICUL VP, State Governmental Affairs. Chicagoland CUs play host to Ecuadorians
Four individuals from OSCUS in Ecuador last month visited three credit unions in the Chicago area, including one with which it has a formal partnership via the World Council's International Partnerships Program. OSCUS holds the partnership with Baxter Credit Union in Vernon Hills (top left), which was the first stop for the delegation. The other credit unions visited included Motorola Employees Credit Union (MECU, Schaumburg), and Consumers Cooperative Credit Union in Waukegan (bottom left). I.H. Mississippi Valley CU opens 2nd Galesburg branch
Credit union staff, board members and others were on hand to help I.H. Mississippi Valley CU celebrate the opening of its second branch in Galesburg last month. This latest branch for the credit union, based in Moline, is a non-traditional structure that features an open-floor concept that has replaced the traditional teller windows with two teller stations and two self-serve stations. Credit union CEO Dennis Hall is seen front and center after cutting the ribbon.
ICU Foundation holds successful golf outing
Nearly 90 golfers braved very high temps on July 25 for the ICU Foundation's annual golf outing. Above, Tom Pierce, ICU Foundation Secretary/ Treasurer thanks supporters for turning out for the event and reads off winning raffle ticket winners.
