See you at the Date - 2012 Chapter Leaders Conference!
The 2012 conference has been set for August 22 - 23 and will be held at the Tinley Park Convention Center.  This year's theme is: "The Oscars: Celebrating Award Winning Performances."  The Chicago Metro Chapter will be the host chapter.  Hope to see you there!

Rockford first chapter to go facebook - "Like" it!
As part of the Rockford Area Chapter of Credit Union’s (RACCU) marketing initiative, Kristi Hyde from Rock Valley Credit Union, along with collaboration from the RACCU Marketing Committee, has created a facebook page, the first to be initiated by one of the League's chapters.

The purpose of its facebook page is to communicate with potential membership about the value of being a credit union member in a fun and inviting way by breaking down the barriers to membership.

If the chapter can obtain a minimum of 30 “likes” on its facebook page, then Facebook will provide general demographic information about who is clicking onto the page.

As part of this general branding campaign effort, RACCU just produced the second of two television commercials, "Break Up With Your Bank - Find A Local Credit Union To Love! Pt. 2".  This commercial was scheduled to air through the Olympics.  The “players” included:  Melissa Revels (First Northern Credit Union), Jason Chance (Music By Chance), and Kyle Yonkers (WREX).  The campaign information is as follows:

  • Mission Statement:  ”A collaboration of Rockford Area Credit Unions organized to create awareness and educate our communities that credit unions are a viable banking choice.”
  • Branding Campaign Theme:  Find a local credit union to LOVE at
  • Marketing Committee Members:  Lorna Cote (chair) – Members Alliance Credit Union, Sara Sheahan – Rockford Municipal Employees Credit Union, Kristi Hyde – Rock Valley Credit Union, Cristi Parker – Winnebago County Schools Credit Union, Melissa Revels – First Northern Credit Union, and Karen Jurasek – Generations Credit Union

Also as part of this effort, RACCU is requesting the following of the chapter’s credit unions:

  1. Use any/all theme and content from the RACCU branding campaign to promote your individual credit union.  Use red heart as consistent symbol throughout ads.
  2. Piggyback your credit unions message (tv, outdoor ads, radio, social media, web) on the RACCU campaign for maximum effectiveness.
  3. Share this email with your marketing staff and brainstorm new ideas for your ad content.

If you are a facebook user, check out the chapter's page today and "like" it!

Chapter Leaders Listserv
Did you know that a listserv is available as a tool in which chapter leaders from around the state can effectively communicate?  In case you were not already familiar, a listserv is an interactive online discussion feature in which groups of people with common interests can exchange ideas via email.  An e-mail list (or Listserv) is a fast, convenient way to share information.  For more information and/or to sign up for the listserv for Chapter Leaders,
