Dates Legislative Day and Reception Event, Golf Outing - Springfield

Please mark your calendar to attend the League’s annual Legislative Day event and reception, which is scheduled for May 1. The format of this critical event will once again feature registration at 9:30 a.m. and include a luncheon, allowing for a better opportunity for legislative visits. One new feature of this year's will be an open house at the League's new Legislative Offices during the afternoon. During the evening, please also plan to take advantage of the Legislative Reception as a great opportunity to socialize with your legislators. The 3rd annual Springfield golf outing to benefit CUPAC is again being held prior to Legislative Day on Tuesday, April 30 at the Edgewood Golf Club in Auburn, IL, starting with registration and lunch at 11:00 a.m. Complete details for these events have been provided via separate brochures mailed to all credit unions and on the League’s Web site.
NASCUS Directors College - Springfield

The Directors College held by the National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors (NASCUS) in conjunction with Legislative Day last year is coming back to Springfield on May 2, the day after Legislative Day. NASCUS encourages board members, supervisory committee, other volunteers and credit union management to attend this one-day event geared toward enhancing directors’ understanding of the critical statutory, fiduciary and regulatory responsibilities of a director. ICUF annual golf outing - Elk Grove

Reserve Wednesday, July 31 and plan to attend the Illinois Credit Union Foundation’s golf outing. This annual fundraiser offers the opportunity to play in a scramble or individual play format. Participants are guaranteed a day of fun on the links while raising money for the Foundation. Hike the Hill – Washington, D.C.

Be sure to make your calendar to join the Illinois delegation in the nation’s capitol October 2 - 3 for the League’s annual Hike the Hill event. At the 2012 event, a delegation of 13 credit union officials from nine credit unions, as well as key League staff met with their Congressmen to discuss vital issues of concern. The meetings were very positive and we will continue interacting with these legislators via candidate interviews and chapter legislative nights in their respective districts.
ICUF scholarship and grant deadlines
The first review for 2013 scholarships and grants (Community Service, Small Credit Union Development, Marketing and Business Development, and Financial Independence & Revitalization Effort (FIRE)) took place following the March 31 application deadline. Remaining grant application review deadlines are July 31, and October 31. Grant seekers are encouraged to complete and return the application form to the Foundation as early in the year as possible since grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications will be reviewed as long as grant funds are available. March 31 was the main scholarship application deadline.
