Virginia Topolski (2006)
To say that Virginia is a staunch supporter of credit unions would be an understatement. In addition to her regular work duties at Archer Heights Credit Union, Virginia also wears many hats and has a fondness for helping others while on the job.
This has included coordinating the credit union’s candy and balloon fundraiser for the Children’s Miracle Network.
She could also be easily considered the backbone of the Joseph S. DeRamus Chapter. She attends all chapter meetings, and represents her colleagues at special events like the League’s Legislative Day in Springfield. She has served in many capacities since her involvement began in 1994, including Legislative Forum Representative, First and Second Vice-Chairman, and Chairman for seven years, a position in which she currently serves.
As if volunteering for credit unions wasn’t enough, Virginia in her spare time has also been extremely active with other groups in her community, such as the local American Legion, where she has headed up Easter, Halloween, and Christmas parties for veterans in area nursing homes. One of her friends has been quoted as saying that she is truly a “People Helping People” person if there ever was one.
