Roger Brainerd Tribute (2011)

Working as office manager at the credit union provided Roger with the opportunity to learn about the credit union movement, get involved with his community and volunteer with his chapter.
In 1977 Roger became a Field Representative with the Illinois Credit Union League, and assisted more than 100 credit unions with issues including bookkeeping, board policies and planning, regulatory compliance, and general management issues. In 1985, he moved on to become CUNA’s Director of Planning and Consulting, followed in 1987 by a move to Arizona to serve as the Arizona League’s Vice President of its Service Corporation.
However, Roger moved back in 1988 to Illinois to become Regional Manager for the ICUL Service Corporation, a position he will hold until April 2011.
During his more than 45 years with the credit union movement, Roger’s commitment to his work partnerships and friendships never wavered. He has remained a stalwart supporter of credit unions, the League, CUNA and his community.
