Richard L. Taylor Memorial (2008)
Richard L. Taylor was a long-time board member and former chairman of H-F Credit Union. He was instrumental in the growth and development of the credit union. Rich led the credit union through field of membership expansions and mergers with other school-based credit unions. He also guided the credit union through the process of purchasing and renovating its first free-standing office, a process which began in 2004. Previously, the credit union was housed within a high school. Shortly after the credit union's move, Rich was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He met this challenge with the same simple determination that he used to deal with any issue. His biggest concern was that he would not be an effective leader or that he would miss a meeting or two. Rich never missed a meeting, including one held only two days before he passed away on April 23, 2008. The credit union board and staff felt the loss of Rich deeply and wants to honor his memory with this memorial gift. As they said, "May the credit union industry continue to prosper because of special people like Richard L. Taylor”.
