Richard Heath Tribute (2004)
Most of you probably know of Dick Heath as a League employee, however, his credit union career stretches far beyond this role.
Dick has been involved in the credit union movement for the past 40 years. For more than half of his career, Dick worked at Alliant Credit Union (formerly known as United Airlines ECU) and worked his way up from Credit Manager to Senior Vice President when he retired from the credit union in 1993.
During his tenure, Dick was a member of the credit union’s board of directors, serving as Secretary for 13 years and a credit committee member. He was also very active with the Northern Cook County Chapter, serving as Chapter President prior to joining the League’s Board of Directors in 1976.
Dick served on the League Board for 16 years in numerous capacities, including Chairman from 1985 to 1987. During this time, he also served as Chairman for the ICUL Service Corp, the ICU Foundation and Mid-States Corporate Federal Credit Union, as well as a CUNA National Director.
Upon the second retirement of his career, from the League Board in 1993, Dick joined the Illinois Credit Union League staff, where he currently works as Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer. Since then, he has also been inducted into the Illinois Credit Union Hall of Fame.
