ICU Hall of Fame Awards
Purpose for Awards
Leadership Award - to recognize an individual's contribution to the overall credit union movement in Illinois, particularly at the state and/or national level.
Lifetime Achievement Award - to recognize an individual's lifetime contribution to credit unions and/or chapters in Illinois.
Criteria for Awards
- Number of years actively involved in credit union movement (Must have at least 10 years active service)
- Participation in League, chapter and/or national activities
- Overall impact and/or contributions to the credit union movement
- Promotion of the cooperative nature of credit unions in local community
- Has demonstrated leadership, personal commitment and vision within the credit union movement
Who is Eligible
- Credit union professionals (Illinois only)
- Credit union volunteers (Illinois only)
- System staff (Illinois only)
- Inductees may be active or retired
- Inductees may also be named posthumously
Nominating Process
- Individuals can be nominated by a credit union, chapter or individual
- Application sent annually to all Illinois credit unions by October 31
- Application deadline - December 31
Selection Process
- Up to two nominees for each category may be inducted annually
- The Annual Convention Committee will select up to five nominees from among the applications received
- Three credit union officials from other states will determine winners
Awards to be Presented
- Awards to be presented at League Annual Convention Keynote & Awards Program
- Names of inductees will be displayed on plaque in League lobby
- Bios of inductees will be contained in a permanent Hall of Fame binder at the League office
