Credit union support for Haiti |
The National Credit Union Foundation in conjunction with the World Council of Credit Unions has activated its online disaster relief system, CUAid.coop, to raise money for credit union employees, volunteers and members affected by the powerful earthquake that devastated much of Haiti, especially the city of Port-au-Prince.
It appears that up to three million people have been affected and many thousands may be dead.
Currently there are 175 credit unions serving 404,000 members in Haiti, many of which will need help.
All donations made to CUAid will be forwarded to credit union organizations in affected areas through the National Credit Union Foundation. Both the League and LSC will make a donation.
To make a donation online go to http://www.cuaid.coop. Thank you for once again expressing the credit unions’ philosophy of “People Helping People”.
