Michelle Huffine
Thomas W. Doig Chapter
IYIC Rep of the Year

Michelle Huffine was honored as the Illinois Youth Involvement Council’s (IYIC) Chapter Representative of the Year for 2001 at the Illinois Credit Union System’s annual chapter leaders conference in Alton March 8, 2002.

The mission of the IYIC is to ensure the future of the credit union movement by involving young people as members, employees and volunteers. The IYIC strives to reach out to young people and share information about credit unions as a financial service alternative. Michelle serves as the representative for the Thomas W. Doig Chapter of Credit Unions, which covers Lake County.

Michelle was honored for taking an active role in IYIC and at the chapter level. She did an outstanding job promoting the annual candy sale, participated in all IYIC meetings and events, and actively promoted IYIC activities to the chapter. In addition, Michelle helped to coordinate a presentation at a young professionals forum, served on the young professionals advisory committee, attended the Illinois Credit Union League’s legislative day in Springfield, and served on the Young Professionals advisory committee.

Michelle is one of the youth council’s 27 representatives in Illinois. She currently works for Community Trust Credit Union in Gurnee.
