Debbie Hardtke
Aurora Chapter
ICU Foundation Rep of the Year
Debbie Hardtke was honored with the 2001 Chapter Representative of the Year award by the Illinois Credit Union Foundation at the Illinois Credit Union System’s annual chapter leaders conference in Alton March 8, 2002.
Debbie was recognized for her enthusiastic service to the foundation, a not-for-profit charitable organization which promotes the "people helping people" philosophy of credit unions through grants, scholarships and cooperative partnerships. She serves as the representative for the Aurora Chapter of Credit Unions, which covers southern Kane, all of DuPage and Kendall counties. Debbie is one of the foundation’s 27 representatives in Illinois.
She has been instrumental in generating support for the foundation within the Aurora chapter. As a result, an increased number of credit unions have participated in Foundation programs, including scholarship applications and grant requests, and fundraisers to sustain these programs. Debbie also worked at the foundation’s booth during the Illinois Credit Union System’s annual convention.
In addition to the credit union movement, Debbie has been an active fundraiser in her local community for the fire department and her church. She currently works for Credit Union 1 in Lombard.
