I-CARE Chapter Representative of the Year
Will County Chapter

In its third year, the I-CARE Chapter Representative of the Year is an award to recognize one chapter representative who has shown exemplary volunteer commitment to I-CARE, the League’s cooperative advertising program, and the National Credit Union Brand Campaign.  This year, we are pleased to announce Carlene Amwoza as the winner of this year’s I-CARE Rep of the Year award. 

Carlene is being recognized for her efforts made to I-CARE in the past year. Specifically, she evaluated and implemented a new way of expanding the reach and value of I-CARE in her market area.  The Will County Chapter recently sponsored Credit Union Night with their local minor league baseball team, the Joliet Jackhammers.  Carlene recommended I-CARE participate as a sponsor of the event as a new way to reach consumers in the chapter’s communities with the positive credit union image.  As a result of Carlene’s initiative and the success of last year’s event, the chapter is moving forward and sponsoring it again this year.  Only a handful of chapters participate with I-CARE in such an event, and as a result, I-CARE has progressively evolved into a program that initiates innovative ways to increase public awareness of credit unions.   

Carlene is one of our veteran I-CARE Representatives, and as a regular attendee at chapter functions, she effectively communicates the importance of, and thus has been able to garner support for, the program by credit unions in her chapter.   She has served as a member of the Advisory Board, and has championed I-CARE and use of the national brand in the Will County Chapter.  She also participated in the I-CARE booth at the League’s annual convention.
