
Chapter Purpose
Credit unions are united into Chapters by geographic boundaries. Chapters are an integral and functioning part of the Illinois Credit Union System. The Chapter is dedicated to:

Preserving credit union uniqueness

Informing member credit unions of new services and pertinent information for credit union in general; and

Maintaining the importance of credit unions in our national economic structure.
Further, the Chapter has the responsibility to implement and support the policies and objectives of the Illinois Credit Union System and the Credit Union National Association (CUNA), and to serve as a means of exchanging ideas and discussing problems of mutual concern. The purpose of the chapter is to:

Conduct regular meetings to inform and update member credit unions in topics that concern their operations;

Help establish and maintain high credit union operating standards in their Chapter area;

Provide credit unions with common counsel and assistance in attaining goals;

Protect all credit unions against unjust criticism and unwarranted controls;

Set goals to encourage the growth and development of the Chapter; and
-
Provide duly nominated candidates for election to the Board of Directors of the Illinois Credit Union System.
