Special Project/Event Eagle Award Winner Chapter "Family" Picnic

Two hundred seven adults and children attended-a true family outing in June of 2000 hosted by Burnett Chapter! We had a deputy from the sheriff’s department bring her "police" dog and do a canine presentation. She truly topped off the picnic by presenting the kids with deputy badges and certificates after taking an oath of allegiance to "say no" to drugs. Our caterer served a terrific menu including BB! ribs and pork steaks. The chapter gave away some fun "summer" door prizes and had a yo-yo artist and games for the kids. One of our chapter credit unions supplied beer and soda for everyone. We had participation from almost every credit union in the chapter. The picnic set an atmosphere of togetherness and closeness and also "fun" for all of its participants. This "work together"-"play together" atmosphere followed us through the year and into 2001.
