- Describe your BEST PRACTICE/HIGH POINT: Robbery Awareness Workshop and Mock Robbery
The Chapter held an after hours workshop to educate credit union employees on robbery awareness. All participants received important information is what they could do in the event of a robbery and how to identify the perpetrator. After the training portion was completed the attendees were relocated to a credit union office and 4 of the attendees participated with the local police in a mock robbery.
- What made it a HIGH POINT or PEAK EXPERIENCE?
The mock robbery was extremely helpful and educational. It helped make the participants aware of how quickly a robbery occurs and how difficult it is to be in that type of situation. The police also brought 4 different types of guns to show participants up close to what they look like.
- What POSITIVE IMPACT did it have for the participants and the Chapter?
A valuable experience from the mock robbery and very helpful educational tools were given to all participants. We had 9 credit unions represented from the Chapter and a total of 89 attendees. This workshop was conducted November 7, 2001 and was also extremely helpful right before the holiday season.
